CONTACT LENSES
We can offer a wide range of contact lenses to correct almost all types of focusing errors including myopia (short-sighted), hyperopia (long-sighted), astigmatism and presbyopia (replacing the need for reading glasses).
Soft contact lenses and Dailies
These have the advantage of being easy to wear, providing good comfort without a long period of adaptation. Older hydrogel materials (a mixture of water and plastic polymers) are now being superseded by silicone hydrogel materials, a development introducing silicone into the plastic matrix. These provide up to five times the oxygen permeability of the older lens materials allowing the eye to breathe more easily and promote better eye health while wearing lenses.
Toric soft lenses can correct astigmatism and multifocal lenses may help those over 40’s who experience reading difficulty.

I recently bought some new glasses at Specsavers but they hadn't adjusted them correctly. As I live nearby, I went into Loveday's to ask them whether they would adjust the glasses for me as a favour. I spoke to Mitchell, who said that he would be happy to help if it was at my own risk. Although it was tricky, he adjusted them perfectly. Not only am I extremely grateful to both him and Loveday's but I was so impressed that I will be taking my custom to them in future! They are all very friendly and helpful, especially Mitchell, to whom I am very grateful.

I have visited Loveday Opticians twice now to have my eyes checked. After having major surgery on both eyes, I was looking for an Opticians who I felt confident with to take cares of my fragile eyes.I have found the service exceptional. They were thorough, listened to what surgery I had had then then went through all of the tests and checks. The glasses service was fast and efficient, with a quick fitting and their technician getting the glasses right first time.A return visit and the level of service was still as good and although my prescription hadn't changed, I purchased a new pair of glasses and received replacement lenses as part of a deal. There was no pressure to buy the glasses, which is a welcome change from other opticians who try and sell you multiple pairs of glasses.

I had my ear wax removed at Loveday Opticians and the service was very professional and friendly. Time was taken to explain the process and to listen to any concerns. It took more than one visit due to my narrow ear canals, but I paid only once for this service. My hearing is so much better now. The reception staff and opticians obviously care about their work and are so friendly and polite. Highly recommended.

Nothing but praise for these guys. Straight away they were sympathetic and understanding towards my struggle wearing a face covering. The lady who done my eye test was friendly and knowledgeable. She sorted me out with a free trial of contact lenses and a sample of eye drops for my dry eye problem. Even had a chat with the lovely lady on reception and another customer about football. Came away very happy with the whole experience and would definitely recommend

I can't say how long ago I had my glasses made up here,but I do remember it being a totally efficient service and I still have,and use my NHS Algha 12 kt gold John Lennon glasses,even if the case is showing its age.
